2. Aer you’ve removed the screws, move
the active cooling fan to the side. Push the
wires out of the way so you have a clear
view of the black plastic drive block.
3. Locate the small round hole in the drive
block. Insert the 2mm hex wrench included
with your Makerbot Replicator 2 into the
hole until you feel it seat itself in the set
screw inside.
4. Use the hex wrench to turn the set screw
very slightly clockwise to put more pressure
on the filament. Turn it very slightly counter-
clockwise to put less pressure on the
filament. Turn the screw no more than one
eighth of a turn.
5. Remove the hex wrench.
6. Reseat the active cooling fan, being
careful of the fan wires.
7. Use the Phillips head screwdriver
to reattach the active cooling fan to
the extruder.
Updating Your Firmware
Keeping your firmware up to date will ensure that your MakerBot Replicator 2 always
operates at its best. When MakerWare tells you that there’s a new firmware release, click
the MakerBots menu and select Upload Firmware.
